Benoordenhout is a neighborhood in Haagse Hout that is very classic, the prices are relatively higher than most other neighborhoods in this area. Benoorderhout was built between approximately 1925 and 1935. Relatively many people with a high income live there. There are also many educational institutions.

The Benoordenhout district is located very north of The Hague, near the centre and is bordered by the Koningskade, the Raamweg, the Hubertuspark, the barracks and the dunes north of this Waalsdorperweg, the border with Wassenaar, the Haagse Bos and the Malieveld. The district has the title in the Haagse Bos: 'north of the forest' (wood).

The Van Hoytemastraat, Breitnerlaan, Johannes Bilderstraat and Weissenbruchstraat form the shopping centre Benoordenhage - with about 60 specialist shops. In various districts, for example the Van Hogenhoucklaan and the Van Diepenburchstraat, many shopkeepers left after 1985. Around 1975 a small shopping centre was built in Duinzigt.
